Additional slashes from the level 5 upgrade do not increase the attack count and thus do not affect the split count of bonuses from enhancements or Growth.
The spirits created by the level 7 upgrade do not benefit from Growth.
Dual Katana is based on the two Katana worn by Ayame on her base outfit. The white blade is named Ashura, while the red blade is called Rakshasa (Rasetsu in Japanese).[1]
Spirit of the Oni is based on the unnamed spirit Ayame summons when fighting Fubuki and Mio in Hololive Alternative's 1st teaser.[2]
The spirit would appear in the HoloAlt manga HoloEarth Chronicles Side:E ~Yamato Phantasia~, where it turned out to be the buffed up combined form of Ayame's familiar/mascot Karma and Shiranui.[3]
Nakirium is the fan-coined name for the cute and positive energy given off by Ayame when she streams. It is highly sought after by her Nakirigumi fanbase for its ability to brighten their day. It originated as an English meme, but was imported into the Japanese fanbase.[4]
The meme was especially relevant during 2022, as Ayame was unable to stream for a long period of time due to various circumstances, causing a "Nakirium Shortage" among the Nakirigumi.
Lady of Oni is a reference to Ayame's nickname within her fanbase, Ojou (お嬢, "young lady"). The title came from the fact that her fan name, Nakirigumi (lit. "Nakiri Group"), is similar to that of a yakuza group. This caused them to eventually use Ojou, an honorific used for an important female figure in a yakuza group (typically the daughter of a high-ranking member).[5]
The icon is based on the Japanese Hannya mask, specifically the one worn by Ayame on her head.
Ayame Defense Field (心の壁, kokoro no kabe, lit. "Heart's Wall") is based on a common gag during any Ayame collab with Houshou Marine where Ayame puts up a "shield" whenever Marine forcibly tries to bond with Ayame.[6]
The ability's icon and name are based on the shield from the gag, which itself is a reference to the AT Field from the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion. AT Fields are typically referenced by Japanese media as a shorthand for the emotional distance between two individuals, which, in this case, means Ayame wants to keep Marine at arm's length both figuratively and literally.[7]
↑Takanashi Kiara Ch. (2022/10/09). 【HOLOTALK】With our 23rd guest: NAKIRI AYAME (Happy Season 2!). “There is a meme related to your laugh and happy energy in the overseas fandom called Nakirium. Are you aware of it? Is there something similar in the Japanese fandom?”
