How to play

Initial setup

At the start of the game you will be asked the following questions:

  • Your language preference (either English, Japanese or Indonesian).
  • Your preferred player name.
  • Whether to show other players' names in the leaderboards.

This setup only appears once. The language and toggling of other player names can be modified in the Settings menu. The player name is permanent and can only be changed by deleting your save data.

After the initial setup, you will be taken to the intro cutscene. You may skip this cutscene by pressing the Return key.

Navigating menus

  • Use the arrow keys to select a menu item
  • Use the Confirm Key (Z) to activate the menu item
  • Use the Cancel Key (X) to go back to the previous menu
  • The mouse can also be used to navigate the menu; left click to confirm, and right click to cancel.

Start the game by going to the Play menu and selecting a character. After selecting a character, you will be asked for the game mode that you want to play.

  • Stage Mode - The game ends when you beat the boss at the end. Bonus HoloCoins are rewarded for successful runs.
  • Endless Mode - The game only ends when your character is defeated.
  • Time Mode - Defeat all enemies as fast as you can. (Beat Stage 3 to unlock this mode.)

Game proper

  • Use the arrow keys to move your character.
  • Press and hold the Confirm Key (Z) to strafe - you can lock your current attack direction but you can move freely.
  • The mouse can also be used to aim your weapon; to use mouse aiming, simply click on the screen during gameplay.
  • Use the Escape key to pause the game.

Your character will automatically attack. Your goal is to defeat the waves of enemies and survive until the end. To do this, you will need to level up your character by picking up XP gems on the ground. Once your character gets enough XP, they will Level Up and gain an upgrade.

Level Up upgrades

  • Use the arrow keys or mouse to select the upgrade.
  • Use the Confirm Key (Z) or left click to choose which upgrade to receive.

The upgrades are randomly selected from the pool of weapons or items that you have already unlocked. You will start with some of them unlocked. Choosing an equipment that you already have equipped will improve the effects of that equipment up to a certain maximum level. The higher the equipment level, the stronger it becomes. Certain item combinations can also be combined together into an even stronger upgrade if the conditions are met (see below).

Survive

Your end goal depends on the game mode you are currently playing but both of them will require you to survive for at least 20 minutes. When the run eventually ends, you will be given a score and HoloCoins as rewards. HoloCoins can be used in the Shop to purchase character upgrades or roll for the character gacha, which is the only way to unlock playable characters.

Now you should be ready to survive and save the fans! Good luck!

Special Attacks

Each character has their own unique special attack. These are powerful attacks that either deal massive damage, or grant various positive effects to your character. They start in cooldown and can only be triggered when the cooldown is up.

To use special attacks, you must unlock it first via the Shop for 500 HoloCoins. Once unlocked, you will now see the special gauge underneath the character's portrait in-game. When the gauge is full, you can press the Cancel Key (X) to trigger the special attack. Using the special attack will reset the cooldown gauge.

Equipment

Weapons and items help your character get stronger. At the start of the game, there are a handful of equipment that are unlocked by default while the rest need to be unlocked. Equipment that has been unlocked can be viewed in the game's Armory menu, accessed from the Shop. Refer to the Weapons and Items pages, as well as the Achievements page, for the list of all weapons and items, and how to unlock them.

Collaborations

Collaborations are extremely powerful upgrades for your weapons. These are obtained by getting the collaboration components to their maximum level and using a Golden Anvil. Try to get these as fast as you can to ensure a successful run.

Note: Collab components will not appear again once maxed out to level 7, this also applies to when it is used for the collab. For example, you cannot have both Idol Concert and Light Beam as both require "Glowstick".

To view all available collabs and their requirements, see the list of collabs here.
