Fubuki's primary weapon being her Fox Tail was a personal suggestion made by Fubuki herself to Kay Yu in a Twitter conversation.[1]
Kon Kon is a reference to Fubuki's opening greeting, Kon Kon Kitsune.[2]Kon Kon is the Japanese onomatopoeia for the sound of a fox.
Friendzone references how she (in)famously shuts down any and all attempts at calling her a waifu by saying she and chat are friends.[3] The phrase became so popular that Fubuki officially named her non-Japanese fanbase "Friends".[4]
Old portrait, datamined from the first HoloCure version.
Fubuki's data was present from the first released version of Holocure, before she was released alongside JP Gen 0 and GAMERS in update 0.4.
In the datamined version, Fubuki had a skill called "I'm a fox". The skill is presumed to have been replaced by Fox King for the release. The skill name is a reference to a Fubuki meme where her fan base would "accidentally" mistake her for a cat instead of a fox.[5]
Fubuki is the only hololive member to be in two generations at the same time (JP Gen 1 and GAMERS). In HoloCure, she is currently only present under the GAMERS' gacha-banner, separate from the other JP Gen 1 members.
Fubuki's Kurokami outfit references her alter-ego, Kurokami Fubuki, a more taciturn and sterner version of Fubuki who treats her fans in much harsher ways. She is treated as her own distinct character from Shirakami Fubuki, being referred to as the latter's roommate. While originally a simple palette swap of Shirakami, Kurokami would get her own unique outfit design to further differentiate herself.
In HoloCure, Fubuki received her Kurokami outfit alongside her in-game debut in update 0.4, making her the first character to get an unlockable outfit in the same update they were introduced in.
