Anvil
Anvils are rare drops that can be used to upgrade weapons and items, and enhance and enchant weapons. A rarer type of anvil is capable of combining equipment into stronger forms.
Obtaining
Anvils have a 1/1301 chance to be dropped by defeated enemies, and the rate can be increased by using Credit Card.[Note 1] Kaela Kovalskia's The Blacksmith skill also has a chance to generate an anvil. Whenever an anvil drops, it will be indicated by a white/gray arrow. If the anvil is out of view, the arrow will appear at the edge of the screen, pointing in the anvil's direction.
There is a max limit of 20 anvils in the game world at once.
Upgrading
When activated by the player, an anvil allows players to select one of their currently equipped weapons or items to upgrade, in contrast to the standard Level Up method where players have no choice but to select a random weapon or item. An anvil can only perform one upgrade per use, unless the player has Blacksmith's Gear item which allows two upgrades per anvil, after which the anvil is consumed and disappears. Players that have already activated an anvil can also cancel out of it, which leaves the anvil unused, allowing players to return to it later.
Enhancing
All weapons, including collabs, can be upgraded beyond their maximum levels by using the enhancement system, which grants a small damage boost for each enhancement level. Unlike with upgrading, items cannot be enhanced.
Enhancements are applied to weapons using the Anvil's "Upgrade" option. However, while upgrading equipment before their maximum level is free, post-max upgrades must be bought with HoloCoins. The enhancement cost starts at 50 HoloCoins, with each subsequent upgrade costing an additional 50 coins per level. Additionally, while there is no limit as to how high a rank a weapon can attain, each rank upgrade has a decreasing chance of success; starting at 100% success rate for the Level 1 upgrade, each subsequent upgrade level reduces the success rate by 10% until the minimum of 10%. Failing an upgrade will cause the spent HoloCoins to be lost, and the anvil to be consumed. The success rate can be increased by purchasing the Enhancement Rate Up upgrade in the store.
Each enhancement rank increases the weapon's base damage by 2, split based on the amount of attacks the weapon has. Generally, the split count is based on the attack count of the weapon's primary attack sequence, including any extra projectiles gained from levels, "+1 Projectile" enchantment, Projectile Up Stamp and Aqua's Klutz skill. Secondary attacks, like those from Awakened form or on-hit effects, generally do not increase the split count. Enhancement damage bonus does not benefit from other bonuses to weapon's base damage, such as level up, enchantment and stamp bonuses, or the Growth shop upgrade, but scales with the player's ATK and all other damage multipliers.
Enchanting
Using the Anvil, players can apply an enchantment to any weapon that is not the character's starting weapon. The enchantment system must first be unlocked in the Upgrades shop before it becomes available.
Enchantments will boost one of the weapon's stats; the given boost will be randomly selected. Players can repeat the enchanting process to re-roll for a different random boost, replacing the previous enchantment. Each enchantment roll costs 250 HoloCoins and consumes the Anvil. Some weapons may appear pre-enchanted in the Level Up menu, which will be signified by the weapon name being blue and the randomly-chosen stat boost being displayed with it.
Generally, only one enchantment can be applied to a weapon at a time. However, it is possible to obtain collaboration weapons with two enchantments at the same time by combining two already-enchanted weapons in the Golden Anvil. Re-enchanting a double-enchanted collab will replace both enchantments with two new ones, which can result in two identical enchantments being given. However, if a collab only has one enchantment, then re-rolling will only result in one new enchantment as usual.
A collab's enchantment pool includes all enchantments that are available to either of its components, and this combined pool is used for each roll. As a result, it is possible that a double-enchanted Dragon Fire, for example, can receive two "Size +15%" enchantments, and a double-enchanted Snow Flower Sake can receive two "+1 Projectile" enchantments upon re-enchanting, although Plug Type Asacoco and Wamy Water themselves are ineligible for size and projectile enchantments, respectively.
The same applies the other way around as well and some weapon enchantments may be available to collabs, despite not having any effect on them. Generally, this concerns projectile count increases for non-multishot collabs (such as Absolute Wall), cooldown reductions for collabs that are already at their lower attack time limit (such as BL Fujoshi), or size boosts for certain after-effect collabs (such as Elite Cooking).
