  • Cutting Board is affected by the area increase of Knightly Milk Icon.pngKnightly Milk.
  • Cutting Board pushes back targets hit.
  • Damage and area are increased by 30% (multiplicative) on "flat" characters.
  • See Behavior for more details.

Behavior

When equipped, a cutting board projectile spawns from the player's position and moves towards the opposite direction of where the player is going (e.g. if the player is moving to the right, the projectile moves to the left). When upgraded to level MAX two additional projectiles are fired, one for the left- and right-hand side of the player. A projectile will never spawn in front of the player.

Flat character bonus

Cutting Board LV1 size comparison between Ina (left) and Ame (right)

Characters who have a ball size equal to 1 are considered flat. If a flat character uses the Cutting Board weapon, the spawned Cutting Board projectile will be 30% bigger than normal, and will also deal 30% more damage, stacking multiplicatively with the base weapon damage. This bonus also applies to its collaboration weapons Absolute Wall Icon.pngAbsolute Wall and Flattening Board Icon.pngFlattening Board, but the amounts may be reduced to 20%.

Trivia

  • "Cutting board" is a slang term among the wider anime community for a flat-chested woman. Among the hololive community, flat-chested members are occasionally the targets of playful mockery by their audience, causing the talents to react in an entertaining way.
    • Among talents most known for flat jokes, the most notorious for this is former hololive talent Uruha Rushia, who often played along and threw tantrums on stream when her chest was discussed.
  • The fact that the cutting board spawns from the players back is a reference to a common joke that the audience (or other members) can't tell which part of the flat members is their front.
    • Another meta gag is when the cutting board is maxed out, three walls spawn, making the flat character essentially “The Fourth Wall.”
