RGB Stamp

Hello, noticed the wiki lacked an RGB Stamp page, added it, StampBoxC apparently updated the Stamps cargo table, and although initially everything worked properly, the Infobox decided to start breaking the page so I removed it. The entry also does not appear in the table in the Stamps page.

I'm puzzled.

EDIT: Figured it out, needed to purge. No idea a db could do that to a wiki.

For clarification, the structure is the following right? StampBoxC informs the Stamps Cargo table which informs the Stamp Infobox & StampTableC.

Hi, thank you a lot for fixing this! I somehow managed to completely miss it when I updated the stamps to go through cargo. Anyhow, that is exactly how it goes. StampBoxC template stores into the table and the other two aforementioned query the table for the data. And as to why purging is required is due to caching. The server stores a version of the page from when it was last edited to display rather than recompiling the page every time it is visited to improve performance. So if the data chances indirectly through cargo it is not immediately reflected on the page. The cache does get automatically refreshed every once in a while, but that may take from a couple of hours to days, so you need to "purge" the page to force it to recompile and show the newest version immediately. –Taqx2 (talk) 19:43, 18 September 2024 (UTC)

Calliope Mori

Hello again, noticed that Mori Calliope is listed as Calliope Mori, almost everywhere in the wiki. Considering there are links to official sources that return 404s I'm going to go ahead and assume that this used to be the case or nobody bothered confirming. She is listed as Mori Calliope in every official source & the game. If it's something as simple as copy-pasting her page's contents into a new one and scouring the wiki for links and changing them I can take care of that. If it's something more complicated, I'll let you decide how to deal with it, if at all. --Tziouv (talk) 21:25, 30 September 2024 (UTC)

I believe it was written in this order at some point in time, which is why it is as it is. Anyways, it's a rather easy fix, although some steps require manually changing things which may be a bit of work. You can move the page contents with the "Move" option under the "More" tab, and then fix the name when used in the article (search and replace). You'll also need to move the character sprites and portraits that use the name. The links are a minor priority, because they will still function if you leave a redirect from the move, but with the images it would be preferred if you didn't leave a redirect, and manually changed them on any page that uses them. Check templates first ({{CharacterNav}} primarily) and then you should be able to use Category:Pages with broken file links to hunt for the remaining ones.–Taqx2 (talk) 09:42, 1 October 2024 (UTC)

A Few Things

Hello, a few things, in order from least significant/troublesome to most.

  1. Moona's skill Hoshinova & Moona, had been entered as "Moona & Hoshinova". Fixed it, moved the icon, corrected instances of it in the wiki and created a redirect. This leaves the wiki with the old redirect which maybe I should have moved to begin with. Also, somewhat unrelated, couldn't help but notice that the skill's +15% damage reduction effect is absent from the Damage page. I initially thought this was because the YoYo compiler made things difficult but other 0.6 skills are there so I thought to bring it up.
  2. I uploaded a new icon for Super Breastplate as a test. This replaces the old one that didn't conform with the style guide, but most importantly since it is with padding, like the icon for the non-super version, they perfectly overlap. This ensures symmetry when you switch between the two in the infobox and in the itemlevels boxes, unlike say Stolen Piggy Bank. Maybe this warrants some discussion in the style guide. If this becomes standard, I'll replace any images that don't abide by it, especially since there are a lot of older submissions that do not conform to the existent standard to begin with.
  3. Turns out Watson Amelia is listed as Amelia Watson in the wiki. Unlike Mori Calliope however, she is listed as Amelia Watson in the game (English & Indonesian language settings, her name is correct in Japanese). Seeing how this isn't a Hololive wiki but a Holocure one, I don't feel entirely confident about "fixing" that. Incidentally Ninomae Ina'nis name uses the official name, instead of her in-game one that lacks the apostrophe. This may also be worthy of a style guide discussion & addendum.

  1. Thanks for catching that, I have added the skill to damage page and fixed the redirect.
  2. We could certainly discuss this. Personally, I think we could apply this to weapon, item, skill and special icons, but the other type of images, especially character and enemy sprites, should still be uploaded in scale without padding. On Vampire Survivors wiki we (I) made the blunder to pad enemy sprites and it made it really awkward to properly scale the sprites due to their largely varying sizes, but as the icons are generally the same size there shouldn't be issues with it.
  3. Names should be the same as in the game. It falls under the same guideline as how descriptions should be consistent with the game's - even if grammatically or factually incorrect. –Taqx2 (talk) 18:44, 3 October 2024 (UTC)

New pages' icons

Hello, I noticed that the new pages like Usada Pekora don't have the icons for weapons and skills appear (including the blue square background). Is this an actual bug, or just the wiki software being slow at updating? JackyHF (talk) 22:55, 15 November 2024 (UTC) Edit: nevermind, clearly I'm blind and/or tired.

I take that you found the answer already, but to clarify in case someone else asks. I added a switch through the {{HideIcons}} template that disables the link icons on the page. Otherwise, we get redlinks for the missing images that have not been uploaded yet. Once all icons are uploaded for the character they can be re-enabled. –Taqx2 (talk) 08:38, 16 November 2024 (UTC)

"Used By" Change

It appears your change to the weapon template's "Used By" section got applied to all weapons, not just those of the characters, so now all basic weapons and collabs show broken code. - JackyHF (talk) 15:51, 10 December 2024 (UTC)

Well, fork. Didn't have time to check everything before going to work so this slipped by. Should be good now. –Taqx2 (talk) 16:27, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
Looks like that fixed everything, good job. - JackyHF (talk) 16:31, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
